Jumbo Color Mix
Large-bodied Coturnix quail in a colorful assortment of Rosetta, Tuxedo, Pharaoh, White, Pansy, and other mixed shades and patterns.
Egg characteristics
Typical Coturnix eggs ranging from cream to light tan with brown speckling or mottling. Egg size, shape, and shell pattern naturally vary from hen to hen. Because this line is selected for mature body size rather than egg appearance, individual hatching eggs may vary in size.
Temperament
Generally calm, active, and manageable. Individual temperament can vary because this is a mixed-color breeding line, but birds are selected primarily for size, vigor, and productive traits.
Sexing
Varies by plumage. Pharaoh-patterned birds may be feather-sexable by breast coloration, while White, Tuxedo, Rosetta, Pansy, and mixed-pattern birds may require vent sexing, crowing, or egg laying for reliable identification. Do not assume all chicks from this line will be feather-sexable.
Care notes
Provide a high-quality game-bird or quail ration appropriate for age, constant clean water, dry well-ventilated housing, and adequate space. Jumbo birds grow rapidly and benefit from good nutrition during development. Housing should also protect birds from injury caused by the strong vertical flight response typical of Coturnix.
